with Automatic Temperature Compensation

Prime Reef International is proud to present the new Digital pH and Temperature Monitor with automatic temperature compensation,The monitor is designed to continuously measure pH and temperature of fresh or salt water aquarium with a 0.01pH and 0.1 oC resolution. The micro processor based monitor combines affordability and accuracy in an easy-to-use package.  No more fussing with small screws.  Simply press and hold the calibration buttons and the unit is calibrated in seconds.  The built-in algorithm automatically compensates for temperature difference during calibration and normal operation.

Setup

1.  Unwrap the plastic packaging from the monitor;

2.  Connect the pH probe to the BNC input of the monitor. Gently turn the connector 1/4 turn clockwise to lock it in place;

3.  Connect the temperature probe to the RCA input of the monitor;

4.  Power on the unit by connecting the 9V AC adapter to the monitor. The monitor will go through a self diagnostic procedure.  During this procedure, the monitor will display a count down of flashing numbers. An beep sound and a display of normal readings will confirm that the monitor has passed the diagnostic procedure and is now operational;

5.  Carefully remove the protective cap from the end of the pH probe. The monitor is now ready for calibration

Two Point Calibration Procedure

Proper calibration of the monitor requires the use of 2 calibration fluids; use either pH7 and pH4 or pH7 and pH10.

1.  Insert the pH probe and the temperature probe into a pH7 calibration solution;

2.  To enter calibration mode, press and hold the “Cal” button until you hear a beep sound and the pH reading starts flashing;

3.  After the readings are stable, press the “pH7 ” button. You will hear another beep sound and the pH reading stops flashing;

4.  Take out both probes and rinse them with tap, deionized or distilled water;

5.  Put both the pH and the temperature probes into a pH4 or pH10 calibration solution. (Note that the monitor will automatically detect if a pH4 or a pH10 calibration fluid is being used);

6.  Repeat step 2;

7.  Repeat step 3 but press the “pH4/pH10 ” button this time. You will hear a beep sound and the pH reading stops flashing;

8.  Repeat step 4;

9.  The monitor is now ready to be used.

Maintenance and Care

1.  Digital pH and Temperature Monitor is NOT water proof and must be operated on a dry surface.

2.  The tip of the pH probe must be kept wet at all times. When not in use, store the probe with the protective cap on. The cap should be filled with 3M KCl solution. For short term storage, pH4 buffer solution can be used instead of the KCl solution.

3.  Carefully clean the tip of the pH probe every month using a dampened soft paint brush. A little lemon juice may be used to aid the cleaning. Remember to rinse the probe thoroughly with tap, deionized or distilled water after cleaning.

4.  Recalibrate the monitor every few weeks to maintain accurate reading.

5.  Replace the pH probe after 18 months or when the monitor can no longer be calibrated.
